Camper Jam and Chinese Video Meeting

Hello,
  Hope youve had a good weekend, its been so sunny here in England. It makes a change from the usual rainy days sat inside complaining. =D Anyway this weekend I took advantage of the beautiful weather as I went camping at Western Park, CamperJam '13 was on (VW Festival).
Where's Wally ?
The picture above is of my mum, becca and me getting ready for the Where's Wally ? night.I think weve scrubbed up pretty well haha. The enteritainment was in big Marquees and they have live music on, the Friday night it was...wait for it... GREASE !!!! WOW my favourite it was so good, 'Danny' and 'Sandy' were really good at singing and it was such a good laugh.
Listening to Grease
Becca and I slept in a tent Friday night, which was actually alright cos it was so hot it was nice not to be inside a camper, though a mattress would of been nicer than soil to lie on. Shockingly mum agreed to allow Beck and me to sleep in the camper on Saturday, she was actually giving up her pride and joy to sleep in a TENT, I wasnt complaining though lol.

Saturday was lovely we went to the fair, not a great idea after a few pints admittedly, but who can say no to a cute 7 year old ? It was so relaxing and hot it was perfect, Im defo gonna go to the next Camper Show, well thats if Im even in the country at the moment well never know, im like a loose cannon ball.
 Saturday night we had mums homemade Chilli and curry, god I do miss her cooking shes just awesome at it. Look how messy out camp was and we were only there for two nights!!! After having tea and more beers we went off to the entertainment again it was a Golden Oldies night which was great having a dance to all the classics that just everybody loves. (and if you dont your just not normal)

Sunday was nice soaking up some rays and having a final walk around the stalls and buying some bits and bobs.

And before I went home we got my baby Frankie a little cap haha he looked like a little gentleman, I dont care what you think he looked gorgeous. It was one of the best weekends of my life, such a good laugh.

Anyway back to reality Ive got my video meeting at 2pm today with the Chinese family im so nervous Ive prepared some questions though;
  • What my hours would be ?
  • Time off?
  • How far the local school?
  • How would be overcome the language barrier?
  • Teaching the children English ?
  • What household chores would I be expected to do?
  • Im only used to cooking English dishes so to start with may need some assistance with preparing Chinese meals.
Thats all I can think of for now hopefully I will think of some more during the interview. Ekk if this goes well I could be living in China in 12 weeks, thats bloody crazy and a very bizarre thought.

Ill keep you updated on how the video meeting went, Wish me Luck.

Bye

Thank you

Hi Again,

I would just like to thank the writers of these two blogs;

They have been a huge help as there is not a lot of information on-line and you can research for hours and feel like your not getting anywhere. Anyway long story short I came across these two blogs (which actually made me create this one) they have quite a bit of information and its in a personal way rather than heaps of  unprocessable (I like that made up word, I should contact Oxford Dictionary) information.

I want to get everything sorted out NOW, but I cant as its not all up to me know Karen needs to sort out a video meeting time. I need to get me out of this house sometimes cant wait to go away this weekend with my mum, dad, beck and my baby Frankie (my dog) we need a good catch up. Im going to western park to CamperJam, its a VW festival. My mum and dad own a purple Bay (VW) Campervan, its their pride and joy, I think they actually love it more than me !!!!

On Friday night its a Where's Wally ? fancy dress theme Ive made Becca (My 7 year old cousin, more like a sister) a unique Where'sWally?/VW outfit. So Friday night its gonna be drinking getting tent set up and having a laugh, waking up Saturday morning and having a brew and breakfast then looking round all the stalls and shops spending money on stuff that I dont need (What a surprise). Then Saturday night its a live band and more drinking WOOOOO I cant wait, then Sunday packing up saying goodbye then driving back down to Devon in Katie. (My KA)

Also I cant believe how close Romania is (Im volunteering in an orphanage in Romania) Amy and I go on the 3rd August to the 13th August, we booked it like over a year ago now its 29 days away it all seems a bit surreal. I need to get organised, get packed blah blah blah  Im going home on 19th July so have all weekend to pack, apart from going out obvs.

Anyway enough babbling for one day, Goodnight Sleep Tight don't let the bed bugs bite!

Decisions

Hi
   Im new to this and Im not really sure what to write about.... but I want to take note of what I do in the next stage of my life. At the moment I have moved to Devon as an Au Pair but I am now seeking to go abroad I have been interested in the following locations; Australia, America and China. I have the option to choose between all 3 places, its going to be tough to decide.
  A woman messed me about with Australia offering me the job then withdrawing her offer due to a family friend becoming available, therefore it has put me off, I realise it could happen wherever I decided to go, but it put a dampener on things before I even started. Though I have been in contact with another family who want me and they seem lovely and they live in a little mining town. There starting date is May and I ideally want to be moving before Christmas, but it is always and option.
   Well America just sounds too good to be true really you do a week in a training college in NYC then go to your host family for 6 months and then go to another family for the remaining 6 months. I will definitely want to do this programme in the future but I don't want to do to straight away, save the best till last!
   And that leaves me with China, you may think Im slightly crazy opting for China but when else would I go, im likely to got to America or Australia later on in life but Im hardly going to have a family holiday to Hong Kong or Beijing am i ? It would be a MASSIVE culture shock but an amazing opportunity for me. im always going on about wanting to experiencing new things and well here's my opportunity. Karen the programme organiser woman has emailed me a family profile and well they seem lovely, I could see myself living with them they live in Taizhou City. (Seriously will I ever understand the names of places and things over there Im not even sure what the families names are :/) Been doing some research today and well its one unique places that's all I can say. They sell snickers with a battery, salted chickens feet as a snack and loads of crazy stuff. im trying to figure out the cost of things over there in relation to £'s and finding it quite difficult as what is RMB and CNY are they the same currency or different?? I dont have a clue maybe I should fine out. OMG they eat dog too, Im not taking my Frankie over there cos they'll eat him !!!
   Anyway enough babbling on Karen is organising a video meeting with the family I hope we can communicate with ease and Im not going to be like Pardon, Pardon,Pardon.... and having to just guess an answer, umm and there's the possibility I could be living with this family for 123 months so thinks need to go smoothly. They have two children 10 and 4 they are both girls, i think there quite a good age so if I was to go I think I would enjoy looking after two children rather than just one and having girls will be nice hopefully we will have more in common.
   Its just a waiting game now waiting for everything to get organised but if the opportunity came up I would be stupid not to take it I just need to grow some balls and just go !!!
